Workday Launches AI Autopilot Agents for Hiring, Payroll, Accounting
HR Dive · United States · Oct 13, 2026
Workday announced a suite of autonomous AI 'autopilot' agents designed to operate in the background across hiring, payroll, and accounting workflows without waiting for user prompts. A new talent acquisition agent can monitor open roles, flag positions at risk of missing hiring targets, identify candidates, draft recruiter outreach, and coordinate interviews; general availability is slated for early 2027. Workday also introduced a Trusted Agent Platform for building custom agents and a Decision Intelligence tool for modeling workforce scenarios and their financial impact. Staffing and recruiting technology users should note the talent acquisition agent's recruiter-outreach drafting and candidate-identification capabilities as a signal of where enterprise HR automation is heading.
