Workday Launches Agentic AI Tools to Automate Hiring and HR Planning
NewsData.io · United States · Oct 13, 2026
Workday unveiled a suite of agentic AI features at its Rising user conference in Austin, including Autopilot Agents for hiring and payroll, a Trusted Agent Platform for AI orchestration, and a Work Intelligence tool that breaks roles into tasks to optimize headcount. In a demo, Work Intelligence analyzed a planned 50-person hire and determined only 42 employees were needed to meet business goals. Analyst Josh Bersin noted that HR professionals are eager for tools that reduce administrative burden, though agent governance and data readiness remain key adoption hurdles. Staffing firms should watch Work Intelligence closely — tools that recommend reducing headcount based on task analysis could shift client hiring demand and alter the volume and composition of requisitions sent to external agencies.
