Gap Inc. Deploys AI Hiring Tool Bridgette for 200K Holiday Applications
HR Dive · United States · Oct 29, 2026
Gap Inc. has launched an AI-powered hiring assistant called Bridgette, built on Paradox and Workday Recruiting technology, to streamline seasonal hiring across its Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta brands. Since piloting at over 100 stores and six distribution centers in June, the tool has engaged nearly 45,000 candidates and scheduled more than 7,000 interviews. Bridgette handles candidate Q&A, job matching, interview scheduling, and reminders — freeing store managers from administrative recruiting tasks ahead of an anticipated 200,000 seasonal applications. For staffing firms competing in the retail segment, Gap's move to automate high-volume screening signals growing employer investment in direct-hire AI tools that reduce reliance on external recruiting support.
