Jacksonville Transportation Authority to Cut ~200 Positions, Including 46 Administrative Roles
NewsData.io · United States · Sep 22, 2026
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) is laying off approximately 200 employees and eliminating 46 management and administrative positions to close a $39 million budget gap. The Skyway division accounts for nearly a third of the administrative cuts, with senior leadership roles — including a Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer — among those eliminated. The Skyway is set to cease operations November 2 as part of the agency's broader restructuring. The cuts signal reduced transit agency staffing demand in the Jacksonville market.
