Candidates Rate Interview Processes 8x Worse Than Employers Do, Textio Study Finds
NewsData.io · United States · Oct 14, 2026
A new report from Textio and Kyle & Co reveals a sharp disconnect between how employers and job seekers evaluate interview quality: talent leaders scored their own processes +48.25, while candidates scored the processes they experienced just +2.87. Key friction points include ghosting, lack of personalized feedback, and false accusations of AI-assisted cheating — with 39% of candidates saying they've been wrongly suspected of fraud. The report also flags business risk: 35% of candidates say a poor experience would cause them to stop buying from the company entirely. Staffing firms and recruiters can use these findings to benchmark client hiring processes and position structured, consistent interview practices as a competitive differentiator.
