Cadient Report: Up to 71% of Resumes Contain AI-Written Content Across Industries
NewsData.io · United States · Sep 8, 2026
A new Cadient Authenticity Report analyzing 9,158 resumes across 13 industries found that 50% to 71% of resumes in individually measured sectors contained at least one section identified as potentially AI-written, with general merchandise retail highest at 71% and healthcare at 68%. The research signals that AI-assisted resume writing has become a labor-market-wide phenomenon rather than one confined to specific occupations or candidate groups. The findings emerge alongside growing legal scrutiny of AI-powered candidate screening, including ongoing lawsuits alleging discrimination and improper data collection by HR technology platforms. Cadient positions its SmartShield verification tool as a human-assisted approach, surfacing signals for recruiter review rather than making autonomous hiring decisions.
