U.S. Suspends PERM Green Card Filings for TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, HCL, Microsoft

The Trump administration has suspended Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, HCL, Microsoft, Capgemini, and Adobe from the PERM Permanent Labor Certification Program, blocking new and pending green card sponsorship applications for these firms. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling announced the move as part of a broad crackdown on alleged wage undercutting and fraud in the H-1B and PERM systems. The suspension represents the most sweeping action yet against skilled-worker immigration pathways, affecting companies that collectively sought nearly three million foreign workers since 2009. Staffing firms and IT outsourcing companies that rely on H-1B pipelines to PERM green cards will face sharply reduced ability to retain or attract foreign talent, while compliance and domestic-hiring costs are expected to rise.
