Singapore's Ministry of Manpower data shows entry-level PMET vacancies edged up to 32,800 in March 2026, with financial services, professional services, and information and communications accounting for roughly 14,200 openings — up from 12,600 a year earlier. Healthcare and social services also posted meaningful demand, with 210 social worker and 190 registered nurse vacancies at the entry level. Notably, 79.6% of vacancies did not list academic qualifications as the primary hiring criterion, signaling a broader shift toward skills-based hiring. AI adoption among Singapore firms has driven more job redesign than outright headcount cuts, with 19% of AI-adopting firms redesigning roles versus 6% reducing headcount.
