SignalHire Data: Global Recruiter Hiring Down 38%, But Specialist and Technical Roles Surge
NewsData.io · United States · Sep 8, 2026
SignalHire's analysis of its own platform search data shows total recruiter-title searches fell 38.5% year-over-year worldwide, driven by sharp declines in generalist Talent Acquisition and management roles. However, specialist roles bucked the trend dramatically — Technical Recruiter searches jumped 548%, Executive Recruiter/Headhunter searches rose 361%, and Recruitment Consultant searches grew 134%. The US and Canada were outliers, posting search volume gains of roughly 63–67%, while India and the UK saw steep declines. SignalHire frames the shift as structural: in-house generalist TA headcount is contracting while specialist, technical, and RPO-style recruiting capacity expands.
