Eli Lilly Breaks Ground on Houston Manufacturing Site, Plans 600+ High-Wage Jobs

Eli Lilly has broken ground on a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Houston, one of ten U.S. sites announced since 2020. The facility will employ more than 600 people in high-wage roles and produce active pharmaceutical ingredients including orforglipron. Lilly is investing $12.5 million to build a talent pipeline and workforce training center in partnership with San Jacinto College, signaling strong near-term hiring demand in the region.
