~1,000 Endeavor Health Edward Hospital Nurses File for Union Election
NewsData.io · United States · Oct 16, 2026
About 1,000 registered nurses at Endeavor Health Edward Hospital in Naperville filed an NLRB petition on Oct. 8 seeking representation by National Nurses United, citing unsafe staffing ratios and pay cuts as primary concerns. The action is part of broader organizing across Endeavor's nine-hospital system, with nurses at four other Endeavor facilities organizing with Teamsters Local 743. The developments come as Endeavor and Rush University System for Health announced plans to merge into a 12-hospital network, a deal subject to months of regulatory review. Staffing agencies supplying per diem and registry nurses are explicitly excluded from the proposed bargaining unit, but union-driven contract negotiations—if a vote succeeds—could reshape demand for agency nurses if ratios or scheduling terms change.
