Zomato has laid off approximately 250 employees following the closure of its Hyderabad customer support centre, consolidating in-house operations at its Gurugram headquarters. The move follows a six-month operational review and a broader shift toward outsourced and automated customer support functions. Affected employees received four months of compensation, contractual notice pay, and medical coverage through March 2027. The action follows an earlier round of cuts in April 2025, when around 500 junior-level staff were let go, signaling an ongoing restructuring trend among consumer internet companies.
