Trinity Health will permanently lay off 557 employees at its Livonia, Michigan office beginning October 26, with cuts running through November 29, per a WARN notice filed with Michigan's Department of Labor. The majority of affected roles are internal IT and technology support positions, with 49 'Service Desk Support I' roles among those eliminated. The layoffs follow Trinity Health's June announcement that it plans to outsource its IT department to a third-party technology partner. Staffing agencies with healthcare IT or general IT temp/contract talent pools in the Metro Detroit area should take note of this incoming candidate supply.
