Sionna Therapeutics is laying off approximately 46% of its workforce — roughly 27 employees based on a year-start headcount of 59 — following the failure of its lead cystic fibrosis program. The company will redirect resources toward a phase 2a study of a new dual-combination therapy. Chief Business Officer Caroline Stark Beer is among those departing, and the restructuring is expected to cost $6.4 million while extending cash runway into the second half of 2029.
