People2.0 Study: 1 in 4 Enterprises Lack HR-Procurement Alignment on Contingent Workforce
NewsData.io · United States · Oct 14, 2026
New research from People2.0 surveying 700 senior HR and Procurement decision-makers across six countries finds that 25% of enterprise organizations lack full alignment between HR and Procurement on contingent workforce decisions, with 39% citing internal alignment as a major challenge. Responsibility for managing contingent workers is fragmented across Workforce Procurement, Talent Acquisition, HR, Finance, and Legal, with no single function holding clear ownership. The report also notes that contingent workers make up more than 20% of the workforce at 43% of respondent organizations. For staffing firms and MSP/VMS providers, the findings signal growing client-side demand for centralized contingent workforce governance solutions and point to an opportunity to position managed services offerings to fill the coordination gap.
