OBstat Expands Locum Tenens Operations Nationwide for OB/GYN Clinician Coverage

OBstat, a locum tenens staffing firm exclusively focused on OB/GYN clinicians, is expanding nationwide after two years supporting Ob Hospitalist Group programs. The company has provided over 150,000 hours of clinician coverage since its 2024 founding and is now offering short-term, transitional, and ongoing coverage directly to hospitals and health systems. The expansion comes amid significant maternal healthcare workforce pressures, including a projected shortage of 7,660 full-time OB/GYNs by 2038 and the closure of more than 100 hospital obstetric units between 2022 and 2024. OBstat has also launched a new platform for hospital clients and clinician job seekers.
