Nearly Half of Workers Would Let AI Negotiate Their Pay, Survey Finds

HR Dive · United States · Jul 30, 2026

A new report from Ruth AI and The Harris Poll found that 47% of U.S. adults would allow AI to handle pay negotiations on their behalf, with men even more willing at 53%. One in three adults have already used AI for salary or negotiation advice, with Millennials leading adoption. However, more than three-quarters of respondents were unaware that AI can produce biased salary recommendations — including lower pay for women and people of color — raising equity concerns for recruiters and HR professionals managing compensation conversations. A separate Korn Ferry survey notes most organizations remain in early stages of integrating AI into pay and total rewards processes.
