FSU economics professor Pellumb Reshidi has been named a Senior Fellow at Microsoft's AI Economy Institute, receiving a research grant to study agentic hiring — AI systems that screen, interview, and evaluate job candidates. The project draws on a natural field experiment involving roughly 70,000 interviews conducted with a major recruiting firm, examining how AI and human recruiters interact and how employer competition shifts when similar AI screeners are widely adopted. The research is notable for its industry-scale scope, addressing not just single-firm adoption but market-wide effects on recruiters and candidates. Findings will be published in an edited volume in January and submitted to an open-access journal.
