Michigan's Unemployment Insurance Agency is deploying eight regional Community Ambassadors to improve access to unemployment services, targeting populations including laid-off workers, seasonal workers, and veterans. The agency has also restored walk-in access at all 12 local offices for the first time since the pandemic and is moving work registration requirements fully online later this year. An expansion of the RESEA reemployment program will provide individualized support to claimants at risk of exhausting benefits before returning to work. These changes signal increased state-level investment in workforce reattachment infrastructure, relevant context for Michigan-based staffing firms serving displaced workers.
