Maple Leaf Foods Closes Turners Falls Plant, Shifting Jobs to Indianapolis
NewsData.io · United States · Sep 30, 2026
Maple Leaf Foods is shutting down its factory in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, as part of a consolidation of its plant-based protein production into its Indianapolis facility. The closure affects one of the town's larger employers; the announcement was made September 22. The Canada-based company had previously acquired the locally-founded Lightlife Foods brand. Recruiters in the Pioneer Valley and greater Indianapolis markets may see candidate availability increase and hiring demand shift accordingly.
