LinkedIn Shuts Israel Office, Lays Off Nearly All 50 Staff After $80M Oribi Acquisition

LinkedIn is closing its Tel Aviv development centre and laying off nearly all of its approximately 50 employees, with only a small number staying temporarily to wind down operations. The office was established in 2022 following LinkedIn's $80–$90 million acquisition of Israeli analytics startup Oribi. The closure aligns with broader Microsoft cost-cutting efforts, which recently included a 9,000-person global layoff, though LinkedIn has not directly linked the Israel shuttering to that restructuring. For staffing firms, the move signals continued contraction at a major recruiting-platform owner.
