Juicebox: Software Roles Lead SF Hiring Demand as Tech Rebounds in 2026
NewsData.io · United States · Oct 5, 2026
AI recruiting platform Juicebox, in collaboration with commercial real estate firm Newmark, released a report showing software development roles accounted for 27% of all San Francisco recruiter talent searches in the first half of 2026, more than four times the share of the next-largest sector. The report found demand for engineers remains strong despite AI displacement concerns, with the three most-searched roles all in software or engineering. Office leasing surged 37% year-over-year to 7.9 million square feet, on pace for a 30-year high, signaling expanding employer footprints. Recruiters placing technical talent in San Francisco can expect continued strong client demand, while Juicebox notes that rising AI-generated application volume is pushing hiring toward proactive, executive-search-style sourcing over inbound screening.
