Indeed: Seasonal Job Postings Up 10% YoY, Searches Surge 28%
Indeed Hiring Lab · United States · Oct 15, 2026
Indeed's Hiring Lab reports that seasonal job postings as of September 30 were up roughly 10% year-over-year and 7% above 2019 levels, signaling one of the stronger starts to a holiday hiring season in recent years. Several large retailers are shifting away from explicitly seasonal postings toward part-time roles — up from 38% to 49% of postings — suggesting employers may be hedging toward sustained demand into 2027. Warehouse and fulfillment roles now account for 9% of seasonal postings, more than doubling their 2019 share of 3.5%, reflecting continued e-commerce growth. Staffing firms focused on retail, logistics, and light industrial should expect elevated candidate flow, with job-seeker searches for seasonal roles already up 28% year-over-year.
