HubSpot Lays Off 660 in AI-Driven Restructuring Push
NewsData.io · United States · Oct 6, 2026
HubSpot is eliminating approximately 660 employees — about 7% of its workforce — as CEO Yamini Rangan restructures the company into a flatter organization with fewer management layers. The move carries an estimated cost of $65–$75 million, largely in severance, with affected employees receiving up to 30 weeks of base pay and five months of COBRA coverage. Though Rangan stated the cuts are not driven by AI efficiencies, AI strategy remains central to the company's direction amid a 43% stock decline this year. Recruiters working in SaaS or CRM-adjacent roles will see a meaningful influx of mid-level managers and marketing/sales ops candidates entering the market.
