A Los Angeles Times analysis of job postings at major studios — Disney, Netflix, Amazon MGM, Universal, Paramount, Warner Bros., and Sony — found that more than one in ten postings in late June was likely connected to AI, with roughly 30 of ~250 listings tied to AI roles. Studios are building in-house teams for AI-driven visual effects, animation, sound, dubbing, and generative workflows, while simultaneously hiring to defend intellectual property. The findings highlight a widening gap between public anti-AI postures and private hiring strategies, signaling a significant workforce transformation underway in the entertainment sector.
