Hiring Managers Trust AI But Struggle to Manage Its Shortfalls, Paylocity Study Finds
HR Dive · United States · Aug 27, 2026
A new Paylocity report of 1,000+ U.S. HR and recruitment leaders finds 91% are actively using AI in their recruiting process, yet four in five are managing at least one issue with their AI tools. While AI saves teams roughly a full day of work per week, 26% worry about missing qualified candidates due to automated screening, and 71% believe more than half of incoming applications are AI-generated. A separate ManpowerGroup/Everest Group survey underscores the limits: fewer than 5% of companies using AI hiring tools saw transformational outcomes on key metrics.
