Glassdoor Analysis: Employees Prize Career Development and Mentorship in Top CEOs
NewsData.io · United States · Aug 21, 2026
A new Glassdoor analysis of over 150,000 U.S. employee reviews finds that career development, mentorship, and inclusive culture are the defining traits of top-rated CEOs, with keywords like 'growth opportunities' and 'mobility' appearing significantly more often in positive reviews. By contrast, employees under lower-rated executives flag concerns around communication, transparency, strategy, and job security — with 'layoffs' appearing 304% more frequently as a negative marker. The findings offer staffing and recruiting professionals useful signals about what candidate expectations look like at the leadership level and what workplace culture issues are driving employee dissatisfaction. Nvidia's Jensen Huang topped the list with a 99% CEO approval rating.
