Gender Wage Gap Narrows in 2025, but Black and Latina Women Face Widening Disparities
NewsData.io · United States · Sep 16, 2026
The Institute for Women's Policy Research (IWPR) finds the gender wage gap for full-time year-round workers narrowed in 2025, with women's inflation-adjusted earnings rising 3.2% while men's plateaued. However, wage gaps for Black and Latina women widened, driven in part by over 250,000 Black women losing jobs amid federal workforce cuts and immigration enforcement impacts on Latina workers. Women-dominated sectors like healthcare and education led job growth but remain structurally undervalued. Staffing agencies serving diverse candidate pools or placing in these sectors should note both the shifting compensation landscape and the uneven labor market pressures affecting key talent segments.
