Finance Execs See AI Boosting Productivity Over Cutting Jobs, Poll Finds
HR Dive · United States · Aug 26, 2026
An informal CFO Dive LinkedIn poll of 26 finance executives found 54% expect AI's biggest workforce impact to be higher employee productivity, while only 15% anticipate it cutting existing roles. The findings align with a Gartner report noting AI has not produced consistent workforce reductions, and commentary from Challenger, Gray & Christmas that reskilling and retraining — not replacement — dominate current AI adoption strategies. Notably, early predictions of widespread AI-driven job losses have not materialized, with companies like Ford and Block rehiring workers after AI tools fell short of expectations.
