FBI Recruiting Portal FBIJobs.gov Taken Offline Amid Hacking Group's Breach Claims

The FBI is investigating a claimed breach of its public recruiting portal, FBIJobs.gov, after cybercriminal group ShinyHunters alleged it stole 2–3 terabytes of personnel and applicant data, including names, home addresses, phone numbers, and family member information. The portal and its Special Agent application system were taken offline following the claims. ShinyHunters alleges it exploited a zero-day vulnerability in Oracle's PeopleSoft platform — the same HR/recruiting system used by many large enterprises and staffing operations — before accessing an AWS GovCloud environment. The breach, if confirmed, underscores cybersecurity risks associated with applicant tracking and HR platforms that staffing agencies and their clients rely on broadly.
