Enanta Pharmaceuticals, a Watertown, Massachusetts-based antiviral and immunology biotech, has laid off 37 employees as part of a company-wide rightsizing effort at its fiscal year end. The cuts represent roughly 30% of its 120-person workforce reported as of September 2025. The company cited a need to operate more efficiently while pursuing key clinical readouts for its RSV antiviral zelicapavir and immunology candidate EDP-978. Recruiters with biotech and pharmaceutical placements may find displaced candidates with antiviral and immunology expertise entering the market.
