Avature CEO: AI Must Combat the AI-Driven Candidate Fraud Epidemic
NewsData.io · United States · Sep 6, 2026
Candidate fraud — including AI-polished resumes, mass fraudulent applications, and faked interviews — has become one of the most pressing threats facing recruiters, with implications ranging from bad hires to corporate espionage and national security risks. Avature founder Dimitri Boylan argues that offloading administrative recruiting tasks to AI will free recruiters to return to in-person, unassisted candidate evaluation while using agentic AI to conduct deeper, more consistent assessments. Boylan notes that state actors, including North Korean operatives, have used fraudulent hiring tactics to infiltrate U.S. companies, raising the stakes well beyond typical HR concerns. HR software vendors are rapidly building AI-powered fraud-detection capabilities into recruiting platforms in response.
