Government contractor Amentum is permanently eliminating 77 positions at Fort Gordon's Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center following the loss of its hospital support contract. The company filed a WARN Act notice on September 4. The cuts align with a broader Defense Health Agency proposal to significantly reduce inpatient services at the facility, a plan currently being challenged by Georgia's two U.S. senators.
